Used the 8400 for a season, doing mostly heavy pulling. It’s reliable as long as you keep up on maintenance. Only real issue I had was with the electronic side, sometimes the lights and relays would act up, especially after a lot of hard work in the mud. Not a showstopper, just annoying-keeps you double checking before and after your shift. Controls are easy, don’t need to be a genius to figure it out. Ride is alright, I could spend hours in there. Fixing stuff isn’t always quick though, but it almost never sits for long. Fuel leakage pops up now and then but nothing crazy.

Used one of these after it had a full rebuild, including the engine and front axle. Starts up fine, power is there, pulls smooth. Trans has been gone through too so no worries. Still, there's a scratch on one of the rear wheels and one of the guards was off when I saw it. Feel like for the asking price, you shouldn't have to think about small repairs but that's old iron for you. Having everything serviced though takes the edge off - original filters, oils changed, and even the AC topped up. Inside's OK, nothing fancy, but the seat’s new so no backaches yet. Not perfect but not bad.

I've been using John Deere 410 for handling tasks in the yard. While the power has typically been adequate, I did face an issue with decreased performance, likely linked to the fuel system. After replacing the fuel filter and cleaning the return line, its operation improved. It's dependable but requires regular maintenance to avoid unexpected downtime.

We bought 2 tractors for our farm. So far, there are no complaints about their performance. They handle the heat without any issues. During the winter, we don't use them extensively. In November, before the snowfall, we used them a couple of times to clean up old straw. One day, the temperature dropped below -10 degrees Celsius, so we didn't send out the tractors (we were afraid of any potential breakdowns). Although a friend told me he used the tractor at -25 degrees Celsius. The machine had some difficulty starting but eventually got going.

In the farm's fleet, there is a John Deere 6155М tractor, which was purchased in used condition in Poland. Europe has strict requirements for fuel and oils quality. Therefore, the machine came to us in almost new condition. All tractor systems, despite having more than 2000 operating hours, function flawlessly. In 1.5 years, we have never had to visit the service center even once.

I bought a used tractor from abroad for my farm. Regarding this tractor, I have some complaints - it worked poorly with the plow, constantly getting stuck. One of its notable characteristics is a fairly rigid frame, which comes in handy when working on rough terrain.

We bought the John Deere 9400 at an agricultural machinery sale. Despite being manufactured in 1998, the tractor works flawlessly. The electronics and mechanics are in good condition. However, the air conditioner has not been working for a year now. The machine is characterized by high productivity, handling large volumes of ploughing work. Among its advantages, I can highlight its fuel efficiency: 500 liters are enough for 2 full shifts of work.

We decided to update our fleet of special equipment by purchasing an American-made John Deere 6th series wheeled tractor. During the first 2 weeks of using the machine, my assistant and I were disappointed: the tractor is not adapted for work on hilly terrain with rocky soil. Despite the presence of an ergonomic seat and modern electronics in the cabin, there is no rigid frame, which guarantees the operator's safety. Without it, the cabin will soon deform. In the worst case scenario, the tractor will tip over on a round-inclined surface. If I had to evaluate the machine on a 5-point scale, I would without hesitation give it a 3 with a minus sign.

For me, the John Deere 8430 is a suitable tractor for working on farms with large fields (up to 2000 hectares). With proper operation and careful maintenance, it can accumulate up to 15,000 engine hours, after which it may require major repairs. An important requirement is the use of quality diesel fuel and genuine oil recommended by the manufacturer. If you ignore this detail and refuel with a substitute, as my colleague did, the hydraulic system may fail.

1.5 years ago we purchased the John Deere 8320. The machine was manufactured in 2003, but despite being 16 years old and having multiple owners, it has maintained a condition that is practically new. During this time, the tractor has accumulated over 14,000 operating hours. Despite its high cost, the machine paid for itself in the first year of use. Today, we use the tractor only for extremely labor-intensive tasks. We try to conserve its working capacity as the cost of servicing and new parts is high. It is unfortunate that there is a lack of any useful source of information for self-repair of the tractor.
